Norinco m14... worth it or not?

Question on accurizing

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if there is anyone in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley that does accurizing of these Norinco M14's?

Also, that mount I have always seems to get loose, any info on how to get that thing tight and secure?

Tnx

PS: How do you upload a pic to this thread?

What mount are you using?
As for accurizing, there are less than a handful of "riflesmiths" in canada that are truly knowlegeable in working on these rifles.
I'm in the BC interior but am booked solid for the next couple months.
You should sign up for the July2012 4DAY m14 clinic. Registration will begin this evening when I post the official thread in my dealer forum.

I noticed that marstar sold out of the full length and most vendors have got the shorty. Wolverine has some that it calls polytech. Any experiences with that batch?

I'm new at this so I am hoping not too have to many problems out of the box.

I think CanAm are the only ones to proof test the product for you before you buy it. The other vendors just seem to pump them out. Up to you if you want to experiment.
Just my 2 cents.

Proof tested or not, we have been buying these rifles from many reputable dealers for the past 10 or 12 years. The same issues , just different threads. The new shorties included. If you get a "perfect" chinese rifle, it is probably just an accident :D :D

Errrkk. After reading all the QC ####ups that Norinco has with these rifles, now I dunno if i want to get one.....I know nothing about this platform. Hungry, why can't you come to Edmonton? I dont think I have any of your calgary clinic days off....

I'm passing through on my way to Fort MakeMoney for the 28-29th of July, Cgy is closer to Edmonchuk, I figured.

Could not find a point man or a venue for Edmonton Clinic at that time. Fort Mac people stepped up and booked me... so I'm up and down Alberta! It's all good! :D

Cheers,
Barney

PS: Don't Buy ONE!

Buy TWO of them! I still stand by that advice! ;)

if you get a chance buy one ....

I got my n 305 from can ammo Monday . I spent some time with the videos on line. Stripped it down cleaned it lubed it up and put it back together ..And played with it all week
Today we got to go to the range boy was that a hoot ……accurate first five in the can ammo target at 45 yards not bad for me with iron sights ….then 3 out of 5 on a 8 inch gong at 100 yards …for any one that hasn’t shoot a semi auto high powerd rifle its fun functioned flawlessly and hits what you point it at ….only draw back is …I am going to need another case of ammo ..the first one is all but gone
