Norinco M14

Attaboy!

Now your #### won't fall off, which is definitely a good thing.

Doc.. It won't matter if it does or not. The wife says any more new "acquires" and it won't be there to fall off
I was hoping to pick up a scope mount while I was down at Epps but none in stock and they don't have a definitive arrival date so I'll have to look around for one online....

I'm off to the range this morning to break it in. It sure was well protected for it's journey across the pond. All cleaned up and ready to go though :D

Hahaha... well, maybe you'll have to use the M14S to PROTECT your #### from being forcefully cut off if another new rifle happens to follow you home next time you're at the shop... :D

"Well sweetie, you always wanted a 6-inch big bore... so I got a Ruger revolver in .454 Casull..." LMAO! :dancingbanana:

At any rate, regarding scope mounts, you can go as cheap or expensive as you want; if you want a traditional scope position over the receiver then I hear good things about the ARMS 18 mounts... as for me, I have a Leupold Scout in 2.5x mounted on a UTG tri-rail... works just fine for me, thanks!

It's all a matter of personal preference; for me, with our stupid mag capacity laws, I wanted to preserve stripper clip function - which the scout mounting does for me. The receiver is fully open-top, which makes malfunction clearing (haven't had one yet, but it's probably just a matter of time) and stripper loading a breeze.

Thanks Doc, I'll get a better idea later today on it.I too would like to keep the stripper clip option open so I gotta prioritize.
Oh and she said "new rifles" so I can start to dream obout a few mods for my present inventory lol/
I did trade off one from the safe yesterday so I feel this wasn't a new addition- rather a shuffle of inventory :D

What about "old" rifles. If you buy previously owned......
Isn't a rifle 'used' once its been outa the box :D
I put 40 rounds through it this morning - no glitches and the iron sights are pretty good. Grouping was good and it took 10 rds to get myself shooting a nice tight group at about 75yds. I didn't stay long it was bloody cold and drizzling so I'll get it dialed in after work this week....

Well if anyone had taken your bet you'd be $10 richer :dancingbanana:
I had an old .58 black powder I brought in and they offered great money for it so I did come home with an M14S.
Now to light up a cigar and strip it on the porch and get her ready for tomorrows christening at the range

way to go man, i love that strip it on the porch thing ...there is just somthing about comin home with a new rifle and gettin all close and personal with it that a lot of people just dont get.:D have fun and good luck
