what we REALLY NEED is a on-shore SOURCE OF FIBERGLAS STOCKS-pre-fitted, so all you have to do is drop in and go- or get marstar to provide them either as an option or accessory for a decent price- this buisness about getting them stateside is getting to be b/s, considering all the trouble with paperwork there is now

yea i don't get why the US has a such big deal withstock or any firearm for that fact canada should trusted when dealing with firearms since are laws are so strict

I myself am also looking for a Norinco M-14. I'm thinking of getting Marstar's Custom M-14 Aluminium Stock w. Picatinny Rails.

Has anyone got a pic of that setup (Marstar's image is showing only one angle at close-up)? Which pistol grip/butt stock did you put?

The machinery and tooling that Taiwan bought from the US was from the H&R production line.

The commie chinese clones were destined for fellow commie insurgents in the Philipines. That explains why you find stampings saying 'Michigan' on the commie chinese rifles. They even copied some markings they found on their samples. Reminds one of the Germans replicating Sten guns at the end of '45.

LAWN GNOME:
PLEASE get your facts straight....

When you see Michigan on the receivers that was part of the name of the "importer of record" in the US.

These receivers were made before the ban and as a result all US destined production was cancelled....

Marstar bought up what was in storage, had parts manufactured, had rifles assembled and has been selling them ever since....

BTW I have seen a lot of "real" M-14s over the years and have never noticed bearing the word "Michigan" as part of their markings....

Sorry John. That helps explain it to me though.
For some reason I remember seeing 'Saginaw Michigan' on a receiver, but never really noticed or remembered seeing anything about the importer.
