Norinco M14s question.

Last weekend, while shooting, my M14 malfunctioned and the action became jammed and wouldn't cycle freely. This morning my roommate and I took it apart and discovered that the bolt roller had dislodged from it's seating. We re-seated the ring on the bolt roller, re-assembled the rifle and it seems to function fine. The only question I have is regarding the small piece of steel that holds the bolt roller ring in place. Mine looks like a half moon clip but I'm unsure if it was originally a full ring (washer) that has broken in half? I don't want to fire the rifle until I'm sure it is properly fixed.

if memory serves, it SHOULD be almost a full circle with two small tabs with holes in them for special pliers that allow you to change the bolt roller- if you can see those two tabs, the lock is complete-

Sounds like a circ clip is used. Haven't had mine apart yet to say for sure.
