I'm thinking about a new barrel. Krieger specifically. Where can I pick one up?

I also remember a thread where someone mentioned replacing the barrel on the Norinco receiver but I can't seem to find it.

What's the process for the barrel replacement? I heard it wasn't as straight forward as on a standard M1A. Is this something I'd be able to do on my own or something best left for the gunsmith?

Thanks!

Leave it for the experienced experts like M14Doctor and gunsmiths found in many of our sponsoring dealers here on CGN... Lots of expertise in the gunshops around CGNutz.

But if you really wanna see how it can be done... See Skullboy's post up in the stickies at the top of this forum! It ain't rocket science but you don't want yer #### to fall off!

Bring on any questions... I'm here fer ya! :D

Cheers,
Barney

It's the same procedure used for genuine m14 rifles and M1A rifles other than one thing. That is the chinese receiver has a barrel set screw on the right side of the receiver. On an assembled chinese rifle, it's hidden from view by the oprod arm. It must be removed prior to pulling the barrel and is OMITTED when installing the new barrel.

I removed the barrel off mine shortened it and reinstalled last year. It wasn't bad at all to do. If you are relatively handy and have some basic information about how to do it you will probably be ok. If you are the "all thumbs" type....drop it off at a smith.
