Norinco M305 vs Browning Bar

that's right= the old adage is 165 for hunting, 168 for match- you REALLY should do some READING on m14 match- there's a bunch of materiel out there and on the net that gives different powder charges, pressures, bullets, etc- the one by zediker comes to mind instantly- remember, this platform has been around for YEARS, and been used in national matches until recently- it's fully docmented as to loads, wearouts etc-

It seems like owning a M14 is a hobby all on its own. I don't feel like a 165 gr bullet is bad second choice either. I am just used to hunting Moose with a Rem mod700 in .300winmag, and with that 180gr was the #1 choice for bullets.

I got rid of the Mod 700, to get something else because I did'nt think that I would Moose hunt anymore because I Deer hunt now instead. But I decided to do both, so I need a Moose rifle again, but I want something different, thats why I pre-ordered a M305B, just to have something different, and so my #### don't fall off.

I have no problem shooting a165gr bullet at a Moose from 200yards. I have full confidence in a 165gr bullet. I have just always thought that a bigger, heavier bullet for Moose would be more appropiate.

EXACTLY what brought me back to the M14 platform several years ago.
And it is a hobby rifle to many of us for sure. You will know if it's right for you when you get her in your mitts ;)
