So how is your chu wood stock holding out? After hearing all the dire warnings about this oil impregnated, mold growing hunk of wood, I was wondering how they are holding up?. I took a couple out of warm storage and was expecting to see the fuzzy white growth again but after the bleach treatment many years ago it seem to have stopped. But I did find some rust on a trigger guard starting to take hold. They have now been coated with grease (synthetic of course) and put back into warm storage. Also found that the lubriplate grease had gone hard and chunky. Wont be using that for long term storage again.

I refinished mine when I got it years ago - yes tossed it in the dishwasher, then refinished. Looks great and no mold...not sure why there would be.

Infected with some weird chinese wood mold I guess. There was a few of us that bought the model with 2007 stamped on the right side of the heel that had the mold issue when we removed the rifles from the cardboard boxes. Nice white fuzzy growth.

I've had one sitting on a shelf since around 2005. It fits like a glove on the 2006 I just bought. One thing I've noticed as that my 22" with the Chu wood feels lighter than the Socom 18 with the plastic stock: Go figure.

My new 22" also feels lighter than my Socom, but they weight the same according to my scale. Guess the longer barrel gives a better weight balance.
