norinco m4 pictures--warning 2.2MB

We'll have a range report posted after this weekend coming.

Lever took pics of the worst they could find, I guess so no one can say they were promised better. Most of them look better than the pictures posted.

Trivia maybe, but these aren't Norincos. I know these are sold internationally as a military product, which leads me to guess Polytech. But the CFC has named them NORINCO on the Reg Certs, so, I guess they're Norinco's anyway.

These are made by "Chinese State Arsenal, Factory 216" (from the FRT Info). The serials seem to run from 001, so I'd guess that this is the first run of non-fullauto CQ 556 produced? The FRTs for the F/A version exist and are older and more detailed than the FRT entry for this gun.

That's all I'll guess because I know very little of the workings of the Chinese arms industry, and I shouldn't speculate too much. Anyone who want's to school us all, please step up. I'm sure someone here knows.

I can say I know a few Americans who really want one of these out of curiosity to see "China's M4 Copy". All else aside, they're an interesting story.

Oh yeah, they don't say MADE IN CHINA on them either.

/216\ is a known previous producer of Type 56 carbines.

Go over to red rifles and search for my post "China's Military Industrial Complex" for some flow charts of who is who.

Two dicks?

Oh, sorry, read too fast. :p

I'll be out of black rifles if/when my SL8 sells, and at this price point I can justify maintaining one in the safe. Pretty smart marketing... keeping it within three digits for those of us with a hard ceiling for expenditures. :)

I'm wondering if these semi-auto receivers aren't left over 80% CQ311 receivers that have been assembled and machined using uppers from the Venezualan/Paraguayan deal, this would be in line with M305 production.

Buffer tube is not metric they are fitted with commercial tubes though. I'll be more sure on Friday. I have heard though that the supply may not be endless and that the serial numbers start with 001 (new series production). The use of left over 80% CQ311 lowers would explain this if they were final machined on the mil production line (80% lowers aren't drilled or tapped). The uppers appear to be straight off the military production line.

Lever brought in several hundred of them.

I know, by Chinese manufacturing scale that's not a lot. It'll be interesting to see how they go - if they shoot to the standard we've seen here on CGN they'll be just fine with me, well within US Army specifications. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot mine this weekend, and we'll see how well they do with a lousy shooter shooting them :D . To be honest, I paid what I was looking at paying for an upper, and I got a free lower, two mags and a sling thrown in. I'm not complaining about that.

I would like to purchase my first AR soon Im just wondering if I should save the extra 600 to get a stag cause I dont know if the durability will be there with these norincos
