norinco m4 pictures--warning 2.2MB

Lever Arms is providing us with a demo model to beat up a bit at the next rifle shoot at Port Coquitlam. Come up and bring some .223 if you want check it out and put some rounds through it.

Just got home with my new Chinese M4 (sorry, that's CQ-556) and decided to have a little fun. I took my Armalite lower and mounted the Chinese upper on it - Wow, nice and tight, and a good colour match too! (for those who care about such things) Hopefully, I'll be able to get out with it in the near future and see which lower (if either-which I doubt) produces better accuracy. Interestingly, the uppers are numbered seperately to the lowers with much higher numbers. All in all I'm very happy so far, everything appears to check out nicely - the barrel profile is a true M4, handguards have heat shields and everything on the upper is tight and solid. The lower (on mine) is somewhat different - machine marks and rough spots in a few places, but nothing that would affect shooting. If you consider that a new M4 style upper would cost more than this entire rifle, and you would still have some things to do (like lopping an inch and a half off the barrel ), I think they are a terific value. All that and you get a free lower! :D

I just happened to look at the Lever site today and saw the M4. Looks like the pictures were update a couple of days ago so I guess someone mentioned it to them.

Any ways, good to see some more options out there for those that can't afford a US AR.

First impressions were favourable. Everything was tight and locked up good. As expected the finish wasn't exactly like a regular AR, however I would give the finish was a 7 out of 10. I compared some of the furniture with regular milspec stuff and it was hard to tell the difference. Fitted it with a Magpul stock and it fit like a glove, it fit so well I had to buy it:D. I plan to get up on the range and see what it can do. Pictures and a range report to come.

Shyt... I'm still waiting for mine in the mail... I shoveled my walk for the mail man and everything... the wait is killing me (at least when I come on CGN)

At least I'm not one of those poor T97 SOB's... I can track mine through Canada Post and see it slowly making its way.

I used to have a stag 15; flat top, 16", with a threaded barrel and a collapsing stock (back when they still exported them). I paid $1,300.00 NIB and sold it a year later. For $400 more I'd want my old stag back but then I'm pretty pumped about the 14.5 barrel, bayo lug, and other "mil spec" goodness (even if it is Portuguese mil spec :p)
