Just picked up the Norc M4 from marstar and wanted to know if its ready to fire right out of the box? any cleaning needed or adjustments that need to be made before i can shoot it.

yes mine had the oil soaked wadding in the action good thing i found it , it could be bad if you fired it with the wadding in .. otherwise just strip the rifle wipe the packing oil off and put some lightweight gun oil on the bolt carrier group ARs dont like to run dry ..

Can I use G96 for my shotgun instead of gun oil?

Your best bet is to get some Break Free in a spray can, it does everything you need to clean and lube your new AR. Congratulations on the new AR, too. As far as adjustments or other things you 'need' - you'll need to adjust the sights, you'll need some RRA pistol mags and you'll need a ton of ammunition - beyond that, you're good :D

Seriously your asking what to use to clean it with? You bought an AR and don't know that, I relize you must be new to guns but damn you must have learned that in the restricted course. wow! Take it all apart including the bolt carrier, separate the upper and lower and clean with break free, swab the barrel a few times wet then a dry cloth. This is really basic stuff. Sorry! I don't mean to be an ass but if your going to shoot restricted firearms you should have a basic knowledge of guns/ rifles first.

Jefft78, BLABLABLA STFU!!! Enjoy your new rifle. Enjoy learning how to use it and shoot it. Don't listen to wannabe experts telling you what you should and shouldn't know. If your interested enough to have taken the courses and purchased the rifle them I'm sure you'll have enough good sence to be safe about it. Have fun, shoot lots.:nest:
