Great post pobcat.
My Norinco CQ 556 is arriving next week.
Can anyone tell me if it is possiable to convert it to shoot 9mm. And what is required to do so. I think you would just change the upper out but what about the mag well. Is there a mag well drop in adapter. And finally where and which is the best brand.
Has anyone changed the upper to 7.62x36?
Marstar has one on their website:
http://www.marstar.ca/ac-AR-15/index.shtm goes for $879.
They also did a youtube it does look good to shoot cheap ammo:

Now that you mentioned it, any difference to the batch from Marstar?
Marstar has a one year parts and labour warranty on all their Norinco's, they also order a batch of the m4's that have been more thoroughly inspected to make sure there are no manufacturing errors and what not......or so they sayNow that you mentioned it, any difference to the batch from Marstar?
No problem, i hope your enjoying your rifle just as much as i amThanks for the review, pobcat, my Norc M4 just arrived yesterday.![]()
Yes the vortex line of optics are amazing for the price you pay. Talking about ncstar you do get what you pay for, but it should still work. You have to make sure you get the same cheek weld every time you pull that trigger...remember most optics claim to be parallax free...but only past 50 yards. As for the gun itself it takes a couple of hundred rounds before the accuracy really starts settling down. Hope that helpsThanks for the great Thread!!
I think i might go for the same scope that you have..... I bought the ncstar D4B model.....and i should have realized that i get what i pay for.
This model here:

It seems like the dot can "move" around in the scope quite a bit....I hope that makes sense.
My grouping was horrible. I was only at 50m and was lucky to get 4inches. I think that i just have to clean the gun as i have not yet and have about 400rnds through it.

No problem. Putting the red dot on the .22 is a great idea, you can get used to using it and actually see the point of impact change with it at close range (and do it for cheap) sometimes having a tacticool rimfire is a good ideaYa that ncstar was only $75 i do believe. I guess i just expected the dot to be in the same spot no matter where my check was on the butt......dont know what i was thinking there.
I think i will give the gun a good cleaning and try it again......if not then the .22 gets a new scope and so does the M4!! lol
Thanks
. Both my partner and I were using Norincos. He has the CQ with a Vortex strikefire and i have the CQ-A with a Vortex sparc. I shot a 453
Yes, it comes with a short mount, tall mount and shim. Using the tall mount and shim you can have 100% co-witness or 1/3 co-witness. I use the 1/3Appreciate all this information. Looks like OneShotTactical is going to get some business from me on the way back from the IDPA shoot on the 30th. Does that riser come with the Vortex Sparc?

sweet looking range
where is that?
Hey pobcat, I just went to the Vortex Canada website, it says $339 MSRP... You originally posted $150 to $250... Where can you get the Sparc for that price?
Cheers
