OK how exactly is it supposed to work? :redface: what's the second 'belt' for? Do you attach the end with a lockable hook to the stock or the forend?
 
I'll admit to working that thing over for 20 min the other weekend before I grabbed the M-305 sling and used it for the Peace River 3 gun shoot. Somewhere there is a chinese engineer laughing his butt off at me trying to figure that thing out. Gonna get a BGF Vickers from One Shot Tactical later when I have time.
 
This very question keeps popping up every couple months and the answer is always the same. Ditch the sling and buy something/anything better.
 
The Norc CQ sling is a decent copy of the H&K MP-5/G3 multi purpose sling, and can be used as a 2 point or 3 point sling. It works, and not that hard to use. Here's a link to H&K manuals, you want the MP-5 manual, page 79: http://www.kerensky.net/pdf/

I just bought a Vickers VCAS from One Shot Tactical.

It's a nice sling, I cut apart the crappy tactical sling from my swiss arms to get the HK hooks and the slide and I did the modification to the Vickers with the quick release near the barrel instead of the rear. It works quite well.

Comparing with my Viking Tactics (5.11 VTAC) padded sling, they are very similar. The Vickers has no free end but then so does the VTAC if you use the velcro strap to tie up the free end. With the VTAC by freeing the velcro and increasing the length of free end to play with you can cinch up the sling VERY tight on your body either in front or rear. The vickers always has some slack, unless you do some cutting and really shorten it.

I kind of like the versatility of the VTAC, but the Vickers is a very good sling too and it has a quick release buckle. I'd be happy with either if I could only have one.

I posted a link to a detailed HK MP-5 manual, with 10 pages of instructions and diagrams showing the set-up and usage of the exact sling...;)
Took me about 2 minutes to figure it out.

Took me a friggen hour LOL. Stupid PhD can't figure anything out :p

Once I understood that I make a loop like

(front hook) ---(==============)(rear clip) where the sling goes over my head and under my shoulder between the two straps it all clicked.

What is the little hook for on the sliding buckle?

You can switch from the front hook and clip that end on the front sling swivel to turn it into a shoulder sling. At least that's what I seem to be able to do.
