Norinco M4... Worth it?

As a heads up, the 10.5" Norc AR's and upppers are here. They should start shipping Monday and some of you will have them in your hands with Tuesdays mail.

Ryan

I found a slightly used Norc with a few acc that I liked on the EE , I am very happy as it is cheap, reliable and fun. Very good value for the money.

X2 on the new 10.5 version it looks great ...and a good deal for $700...

It's for my little girl :) She's a south paw and the brass across her face causes a bit of flinch.

You're not just going to tie her arm behind her back until she learns to be right-handed?:p

The guys who are going to be laughing (and really laughing at guys like me with $3K into a SAN) are the $700 Norc owners when the AR platform is de-restricted.

This is the only real competition for the Norcs now. Punkrockboy bought a Norc, just because it's cheap, and he's satisfied with his far as I know.

My next AR will definetly be Canadian made.

Does anyone know if NEA has or will have a left handed upper any time soon????

I own a Stag and love it. but if I change uppers or barrels; I'll go Canadian

Hi guys, not into the black rifle thing but looks like probably would be a ton of fun!!! So, the question I have is there a reason that I don't see more mention of an actual Colt AR-15 or is it just a price thing???

Once you try an AR out for a few hours you'll be hooked. They are fun, very handy and take about 30 seconds to learn. They seem second nature very quickly. Even though they aren't the "newest" rifle design they are a ton of fun and very adaptable. Still a favourite platform.

Yes, the Colt's are just too expensive for what you get. They've become more of a status or collectors rifle. Some people will run them hard, but for most it's a coveted firearm and probably spends more time in the safe or in pictures on Gunnutz :D Yes if I had a Colt I'd be guilty of this as well. Knight's Armarment is another one that's in the same boat. Just too expensive.

Stag is probably the best all around deal for a very good AR without paying huge name prices. You can find LMT etc for a resonable price but often they are the bS "export model" so you'll end up paying a lot more after you change them to what they should have been to begin with. The NEA rifles are $1000 with big options for the price. They are officially released tomorrow. I'm considering getting one myself. Not a big name status rifle, but lots of good options/features, an excellent price and a Canadian company. So it has appeal.

Arms East offers military/police discounts. I've seen these rifles in municipal police force patrol cars along with Colt rifles. Walt might take a bit to get ahold of, but the end product is excellent. The Stag rifles we get in Canada are top tier. Properly staked, H buffer, F sights etc.

It might not be Canadian made, but you would be supporting a Canadian store that does an excellent job for Canadian shooters. Something to consider.

OP - The Norc is a good value rifle. You may want to see how it compared when 'punching above its weight' to some other Black Rifles

They shoot well. The finish on the one I tried was sub par, but otherwise it's an AR. I just don't really want to buy Chinese firearms. Great value though. In a pinch due to the lead content you could always use it as a pencil too :p. OK I made that last part up.

To the OP, NEA has some ARs coming out within the next week or so. Price point is only slightly higher than the Norc, and the quality is suppose to be a lot better. Perhaps take a boo at those before pulling the trigger on a Norc.
