just bought a norinco cq, actually waiting for it to arrive , what is the general concencus about this , this is my first "black" and reading reveiws seemed like my best bang for buck to get into . Heard pros and cons both ways ANY THOUGHTS?

You should have asked those questions before you purchased....now you will find out when it arrives in your hand to make judgment :)

But none the less I own one and its great. Shoots the same as my buddies colt, I actually shoot better then him and my firearm was 1/3 the price and the optic is 1/3 his price.

Only Canadians seem to like the china product guns. I go out of my way to buy North American products if I can.

My advice is that you need more ammo - regardless of how much ammo you currently have. Even if the media would describe it as "an armoury full of ammunition" or "an incredible stock pile of ammunition" you need more, in fact there is no amount you can own which would not require you to own more. AR's are hungry little b@stards, you will shoot 2-3x the ammo through an AR than you will with anything else other than a 10-22 (the only gun that comes close). More ammo - definitely, more ammo. :D

The US has a law restricting the import of firearms from China, I'm sure if that wasn't the case you would see a ton of Norc ARs in the US. Its too bad they didn't restrict all goods from China but I think its too late now...

I doubt it. the pricing of ar's is very competitive in the US. Lots to choose from in the lower, sorta to spec, maybe to spec game.

Mine has been flawless through 400 rounds. Not much, I know, but I'm happy thus far.

For a restricted with so many rules on where I can shoot and where I can bring it, I'm happy with the minimal investment. I simply can't justify spending more than ~$650 on a restricted with so many restrictions. So, while I'd love an LMT, I aint payin 4 it.
