Norinco M93 Woodsman? Tips or Tricks? What's your experience?

If you do get into trouble taking it apart there is a couple youtube vids that will help you out.I mostly talking about the spring that is in the slide.Watch that.

By the way it is a fantastic shooter and have no problems after many many rounds.

Yes, watch that recoil sping. Its a ##### to get back in if it pops free of its retaining pin

Great little gun for the price. Mine always has had trouble liking different brands of ammo but favors Blazer. Worked alright up until around the 3000 round mark when my firing pin broke in two.

In all honesty I think I may have got a lemon cause others say theirs will eat any ammo and that has never been the case with mine.

Overall I still don't regret buying this pistol. Hopefully you get a reliable one and not a lemon like I did. I should add that the finishing was terrible on mine as well. Lots of rough edges on the slide rails and all around. After a little tuning and filing I am sure it would be fine.

Well I have had it for a few months now and it has worked almost flawlessly.

Occasionally the slide locks back prematurely but that may be user error with the weird slide stop.

As far as reliability is concerned mine eats everything, including standard velocity stuff of all brands and shapes.

Takedown for basic cleaning is pretty easy, and I have had no issues yet, but will be sure to only clean it when it needs it.

So far it is among the best buys in my safe, and I am lovin it.

mine cam with 2 mags, i would really like 2 more. i just wish it had a normal mag release instead of the goofy euro style on the bottom. mine loves blazer, i buy it by the case and its worked in everything i own so its all i usually try in my semi's first. i just wish the mags were as cheap as the gun, 4 more mags is basically the cost of a new gun lol, should have just bought 2 m93's. 4 mags and a spare pistol lol.

I believe I have 5 mags for mine.

DON'T drop them - they are very fragile and the base plate can come off easily (and I believe there's no tool-less way to reattach it).

Also, be careful with the mags - they have a sharp edge along the back and if you're practising reloading drills too aggressively, you can gouge your hand pretty good on it.

That aside - great little gun. My first runs like a champ. My second one, the slide stop seems to have worn a notch in the slide where it makes contact and periodically doesn't go to slide lock.

I had one that would pinch the webbing of your pointer/thumb if you gripped too hard.

Still - I would definitely recommend the guns for the price.

So I took my M93 to range for the first time today.. While taking my first few shots, I noticed the rear sight shifted towards left. So I re positioned it again and fired away. During my very next magazine, the whole sight just flew off! So I guess i'll have to loctite it soon. Other than the sight flying off, the pistol functioned almost flawlessly. I put 200 rounds through it with a variety of ammo and I only had two stovepipes (one from the winchester wildcat and one from federal). The trigger on mine is fantastic and its really easy to double tap with it.. Overall, very happy with it!

Just make sure who you bought it from wasnt a cheap ass and left both mags in the box. Some companies remove one mag and charge alot to buy the second one it should have come with.....

I recently purchased 2 m93's for that very reason, it will be my first .22 handgun and I hope that all goes well. Perhaps I will create my own thread when I get called in to pick them up.....any day now I hope.

M93 is my first restricted. Dealing with the recoil spring if the takedown button fails to take off the pressure can be hokey but otherwise its a simple piece.

My Girlfriend loves mine and it has no problem out shooting my s&w 22a, plus its a smaller grip so its great for people with smaller hands. Does anyone know if there is parts available for these things, and if so from where ?

I clean mine with non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Just open the action and lock, remove the plastic grip panels and hose it out. Then oil liberally (I love using that term with gun stuff, make Turdeau roll in his grave).

Some of them need a couple hundred rounds run through to make them go smoothly. I successfully use Federal Bulk and Winchester Super X in mine.

The kids love these guns.

Has anyone had problems with light strikes on this?
When it goes bang, it has no problems with ejecting which is great, but on bad days I'm having around 1/5 shots be a light strike.

One thing I haven't tried is removing the firing pin and cleaning that, which is worth a shot, but I'm worried about damaging the gun.
