Norinco Non-Corrosive .223

I had case splitting failures. 4 out of 425 rounds. The case would split and the powder discharge would end up in the magazine well. This was on a Daniel defense mk18. I sold the remaining cartridges. Not worth having a failure that does cause damage.

Same here, got rid of it after a few back to back failures.

Same here also. I chronoed my first rounds to discover how hot and inconsistent they were. The accuracy was very average. I shot 4 boxes and sold the rest. The saving doesn't offset the risk of blowing my noveske, it's still cheaper to reload.

I would hate to not trust my ammo. Imagine playing Russian roulette everytime you pull the trigger? The flinch I would have wondering which case would split and blow up my rifle everytime I shoot a round!
That's why I don't use Norc. Ain't worth the savings.

I have shot that stuff since the 1980's and never had a FTF, FTE, etc. I also have been loading the brass - many of which have been loaded 5 or 6 times with nary an issue. Buy it cheap, stack it deep.

Lots of places still have them. I totally endorse Norc ammo.

Only had 1-2 rounds with issues in 2x1120 cases so far (2240+ rounds and counting as of today). These were all low Lot #' cases.
Accuracy out to 100yards of my 14.5" AR is actually a tiny bit better then the AE 223 black box I also use.

Went in by myself when CanAm had the "buy 4 crates for the price of 3" deal going. Worked out to $239.25 per case of 1120.
That's $0.21 per round of 5.56 folks. You can't even reload your own for that cheap.

All my buds laughed when I paid that much.. Guess who's laughing now? Muahahahaha.

Factory ammo can't boast that. That is an absolutely unbelievable claim.

Don't take these guys opinions. Look up norinco kaboom.

Norinco ammo is cheap for a reason. Is there any commodity that is high quality and cheap? Think about it.

I was just wondering if anyone has had problems with the Norinco Non-Corrosive .223? If so what were the issues you had? Also does anything recommend against firing it out of an expensive rifle such as a Tavor or a Benelli MR1?

Threads of interest from the past few months:

Norinco 5.56mm blown primer

Norinco 223 ammo failure *NO-FLASH-HOLE*

Norc Ammo Blew Up in My Tavor

The Norinco 5.56 is loaded fairly hot/high pressure. The brass is pretty decent for reloading. I have shot 1000's of rounds of the stuff. Buy it cheap and stack it deep. Not corrosive at all.

The brass is terrible. Most everything else is better quality.
