Norinco "non-corrosive" 7.62x39 warning

I use Hoppes oil on all my guns. Also, this was stored with the rest of my firearms and none of them have a spec of rust. I also have a large box of dessicant in the safe and the corrosion is only where the powder accumulated.

Isn't Hoppes 9 oil water based? I have read somewhere on this vast internet that it can cause rust with certain powders/primers.

I'd run tried-and-true CLP in your semi autos.

Water based oil? Thats a thing? I will give something else a try. I haven't noticed clp but will keep an eye out for it.

This is one of many CLPs on the market.

But it doesn't work as well as the older formula.

Well this makes me unhappy, i have a SKS sitting in my safe that i fired around 40-60 rounds through last weekend of norinco non corrosive from canada ammo's last sale. Havent cleaned it as its supposed to be non corrosive. Guess i should check it when i get home.

can you post a photo of those ammo boxes ?

This would help. Mine was white boxs of 20 with blue norinco name and red writing for caliber etc. And blue and red/orange norinco logo/swirl shape.

I almost want to leave work early and check my SKS this is driving me nuts now.

Just pick up another Sks on your way!!!!

Had me worried..I also bought the ammo on the last sale and finally took my sks out for 100 rounds a month ago.
Not cleaned afterward.
I just checked mine and all is well.
