Norinco NP 22 - All forum threads and useful information

Does anyone have a source for Hogue grips to fit the 228/NP-34? Everywhere I have found either doesn't ship to Canada or is listed at a ridiculous price.

Great info on some sights compatibility:

".....Depending on your eyes the sights are either ok or totally useless. Best option is to source the rear sight for a Smith Sigma/SD 9. It's a near identical copy of the Novak but in plastic so you can mod it to fit most any gun with minimal stress. The GSG 1911's aren't as nice but can be made to work also. The plastic GSG front dovetail sight can also be handy in this manner to."

Hi All; can someone tell me where I can get a firing-pin for my NP22?

Bought it new 3 months ago and only been to the range 3 times with it and shot at most 400 rounds through it when it broke today.

The rear-end of the firing-pin broke off and the front-end is still intact in the frame. I believe I found what seems to be the safety lock and safety lock spring but not sure because the spring seems awfully skinny and long.

I've read on other threads that the firing-pin is prone to breakage with excessive dry-firing but I don't think I did that much dry-firing.

Would a genuine Sig 226 firing-pin work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If you bought your NP22 new .. contact the vendor, they should be able to help.

I'm a bit hesitant to do that since my last experience involving a brand new Norinco NP29 that came with a broken ejector (rear pin broke off) that I purchased last December. Brought it back to the vendor who sent it in to the warranty depot. Came back after 6 weeks with a nice warranty report and the same broken ejector not repaired even though it was the first item listed in the issue report. To make matters worse whoever worked on it left a very noticeable idiot scratch on the slide. Vendor kept it to send back to the warranty depot a second time and now its pushing past 3 months and I haven't even had a chance to shoot it. In hindsight i should have just bit the bullet and bought an ejector and installed it myself and avoided all the hassles.

This is why I prefer to just buy a new firing-pin for my NP22 and chalk it up as part of the cost of owning a Norinco.
