Norinco NP-22 or Sig 226?

Ouaw...that will be a first... I also shooted both and you can SEE the difference in fit and finish. You can also SEE the difference on the target.

Better trigger than the SIG !! That Norinco you shot had a trigger job - 100 % sure and was worked on.

There is no doupt in any shooter that saw both at our range and tried them ( 8-9 shooters). ALL could see the SIG was way way better...

Always the same excuse came back from the Norinco owner..well I only pay $400... cheap gun, variable quality and durability. You do not have to justify a poor purchase when you buy a SIG.

First of all: I've never handled a NP-22, but I've bought "cheap" guns before, which were soon after replaced by "real" guns.

My advice: get the real deal, you won't regret it. There's a reason why Norinco's are that much cheaper.

Like we say over here: "Buy cheap and you buy twice".

its like asking what the diference betwene a kitcar and an actual ferrari

Excellent point made .I have had several P226 pistols over the years .Sold or traded them for other things I wanted .They were all excellent and very accurate . I would put in a couple of extra bucks and go for the refurbished P226 .

There is no doubt if I get another German made P226 I will keep it .

You have both dont you Paul?

Chinese dont know how to make a good quality aluminum. A few CGN members have cracked there norinco sig copies. Stick to there steel copies of other guns.

Reason of "refurbishing" for Sig 226 ?

If the Sig 226 is just such a terrific gun (I own one , and 2 Norinco's P22")
any one knows for sure what their "refurbishing " entails?
I am sure it is not just a blueing job on the slide , or changing springs only.
May I be corrected !!
I asked here for description of Frame cracks on the P 22.
No one ever responded with pictures or details.
We all like to know, really !

I have pictures but they don't really show anything, a warning sign is the brass ejecting oddly and a silver paste forming when you oil the rails on the frame, the cracks in mine started from the front of the frame and worked back. It was a nice gun until that happen. Is the NP22 as good as the Sig 226, no, but if they have solved the cracking problem it will be an excellent buy. I would like to get a NP-34 though.

I was thinking while in the can (where I do my best thinking!!!) If Norinco made steel frames with rails for the NP22 & 34, they would sell like hotcakes, they could also produce them in .40cal then and you could likely put in a Barstol .357Sig barrel, add a light and you have a good defence gun in two calibres with light for almost the price of a CPO Sig.

I've handled NP-22 and thought the finish was pretty decent for a $350 gun. If they lasted longer, Norinco would be a LOT better buy than Sig, but having heard about NP22 frame cracks I would go with Sig...

I used to own a Sig Sauer P226, nice pistol but it have too many FTF (Failure to Fire) at least one round per mag... Sigs' reply was to lock it to the rear for a week and put 5000 rounds through it.

The NP22 is a good quality, I own a few of them... and they have done something my REAL Sig has never been able to do... Fire every time.

With the $800.00 difference... buy $800.00 of ammunition and have lots of fun shooting.

I dont think the refurb has been reblued. Ive seen a few of them, and they all have holster wear on the front of the slide. For the money though they look like a good choice, im gonna pick one up next time I see one for sale. Plus with some rounds through it its already broken in.

Not sure why SIGARMS would tell you to lock the slide to the rear if the gun was not firing, that sounds like a mainspring issue not a recoil spring problem. I would have recommended a stronger mainspring. I guess you spoke to the wrong person.
In any event consider that SIGARMS thinks 5,000 rds is enough to break in a P226, whereas 5,000rds is about the lifespan of an NP22.

I`ll go for Norinco, yeah SIG is better, but for the price sig is over priced, my friend has a 1911 a1 from Norinco, its nice and got no proble after 2500 rd.

hey guys...I have a NP-34 and have about 1500 rnds through it so far...I put 100 rnds through it today and 4 or 5 times the slide didnt go all the way forward and i had to manually push it forward about a 1/2 inch....What could be the problem here??
