OK, so I might try to get a Norc NP-28 9mm 1911 but I have a few questions of the. First off, is the grip different then a standard norc 1911? I held a .45 Norinco at WSS and I liked the grip. Second, do parts that fit other norcs fit the NP-28? Where do I get parts? Thanks.

The NP-28 is a wide body frame 1911. The magazines are double stack. So, you will find the pistol wider in the grip than a standard single stack 1911.

If compatibility to single stack 1911 parts is a concern, i.e. since there is such a wide variety of after market parts available, then I'd skip the NP-28 and hold out for a single stack 1911 in 9mm.

NAA.

I've been toying with the idea of purchasing the NP-28 myself, but for the after market parts, would not other double stack or wide body parts work? Say like Para parts or other companies that make a double stack 1911? I know that fitting may be required but would they generally be compatible or would one be SOL?

would a .22lr conversion work on one of these guns?
Would the majority of standard 1911 parts fit this gun, ie: hammers, extended safeties, grips (double stack obv.) etc?

I'm pretty sure that most standard parts will fit, my NP28 has regular grips on it from a 1911, but I don't know if a one peice grip would fit. better to used 2 peice thin grips anyway, a lot easier to hold. If I had another 1911 I would compare sizes, but I'm hazarding a guess that the widebody grip is the main difference and that the rest of the parts are the same. Looking at my np28 though, the parts that look like they may be longer are the mag release assembly, mainspring housing pin, and the beavertail safety(maybe wider), pretty much anything going through the larger grip.

hope that helps
