Hey all,
I'll start by saying that I am still fairly new to shooting handguns, but though I would share my observations about my NP-28. I bought from marstar back in june and have had it out 3 times now. The only ammo I have been able to find in the Ottawa area has been Federal 95 gr white box stuff. the first time out I had a problem with the flat nose of the bullets catching on the barrel feed ramp. When I got home I polished the ramps and ground down the extended slide stop to avoid pushing it down with my thumb accidentaly. Since I polished it up I have put about 150 rounds through it without a hickup yet. From 25 yards I was having a hard time keeping on paper, but I attribute that to my lack of skill more than anything, I then shot at 10 yards and things were a lot better. I also changed my grip to a thumbs forward type and it made things a lot easier. The results are below, 10 shots, some in the same hole.
All in all, It's a great pistol for the price paid and it is still pretty much bone stock, only changes are the polishing and slide stop(both free) and a set of thin grips($25 off the EE). I highly recommend the NP-28 to anyone looking for a good starter pistol.
Cheers
