Hey all,

I'll start by saying that I am still fairly new to shooting handguns, but though I would share my observations about my NP-28. I bought from marstar back in june and have had it out 3 times now. The only ammo I have been able to find in the Ottawa area has been Federal 95 gr white box stuff. the first time out I had a problem with the flat nose of the bullets catching on the barrel feed ramp. When I got home I polished the ramps and ground down the extended slide stop to avoid pushing it down with my thumb accidentaly. Since I polished it up I have put about 150 rounds through it without a hickup yet. From 25 yards I was having a hard time keeping on paper, but I attribute that to my lack of skill more than anything, I then shot at 10 yards and things were a lot better. I also changed my grip to a thumbs forward type and it made things a lot easier. The results are below, 10 shots, some in the same hole.

All in all, It's a great pistol for the price paid and it is still pretty much bone stock, only changes are the polishing and slide stop(both free) and a set of thin grips($25 off the EE). I highly recommend the NP-28 to anyone looking for a good starter pistol.

Cheers

Very nice. And some great shooting there too. I didn't know anyone even made 90gn bullet loads. I thought the 115 was the standard small bullet load.

I'm looking at getting a 9mm 1911 platform for my next gun. Just not sure which one I want yet but I'm leaning heavily towards a stainless one.

Um... try putting on a LEEEETLE more trigger finger to ease that grouping onto the center. And with any luck finding and shooting 115's or 124's will raise the POI that little bit extra and you'll find that the sights are spot on.
