So just to double check, the actual metallurgy, rather than the appearance is ok in the Norincos?
I can live with less than ideal appearance, but I do want proper metal hardness and heat treating etc.
Can someone explain the forging vs casting approaches?

Thanks!

From the few gunsmiths I've talked with or spoken to about the Norinco 1911's, they seem to agree that the steel in these guns is fine.

You'll need a magic wand and a committee to get any agreement on the issue, but many do prefer forged frames over cast. I don't note wholesale failures of Caspian or Para-Ordnance cast frames.

Ok, thanks guys.

Believe me, I am not trying to stir up trouble.
I just wanted input from those more knowledgeable about this topic--that's all.
