Hello all,

Just got recently my NP-34 (Sig-228) copy from Marstar. Basically today I tooked it to the range for the first try. Right away I found one strange thing which I want to share with you and to ask if it is wrong or not, but for me it looks totally wrong:

Assume I put slider at the rear position and locked it there, I put the mag with catriges inside and push the lock to release the slide. It released and push a catrige in the chamber. At this point my gun is cocked and ready to fire. I hit the trigger and the first round went thru barrel. Slide went back, release empty catrige and push new round in chamber...... gun stays not-cocked after this. So I manually cocked it again and hit the trigger again, another round went thru barrel and at this time gun stays cocked.
I hit the trigger again and after the third round my gun stays not-cocked

What I am trying to say here is that I throw 70 rounds thru my gun and in aprox 35-40% of shoots gun stays not cocked after the shoot.

Also when I am taking the gun with no mag inserted and manually pull the slide back it stays cocked only if I slide the slider gently. If I did it quick it does not stays cocked.

All the rest about my Norinco is only the good impressions - resonably accurate shooting, nice look up and very good quality. Only this small (read as"big") problem :(

Sorry for my English and please suggest me how to fix it and if this issue know or not. I tried to search forums and end up with zero results on similar problem.

Thank you,
Vlad

Your English is fine, but your gun is pooched. Send it back. Unless some how your right thumb is riding the decock lever in recoil, there is no good reason for the gun's hammer to drop after shooting.

You could try to repeat the problem shooting left handed to eliminate that possibility.

I am not familiar with this model but I would assume it should work like most others.
On the 2nd and subsequent shots, the hammer should stay cocked . Sounds like something is wrong with the gun. Contact Marstar.
The ones that will not stay cocked are double action only-Every shot is double action but I don't think your gun is one of them.

Is it possible to be the reason of this problem that I did not clean the gun after get it from Marstar. Basically all what I did was removing the barrel and completely cleaning only it ?

I know that the right way would be to disasemble the gun, clean it completely and after that apply oil on moving parts.

Tonight I will clean the gun completely and tommorow go to the range again to try it.

Thank you for all your answers. If my gun has a problem I will contact Marstar for warranty repair.

Got it, I already in the process of copmplete disassembling it and cleaning/oiling it :) Hope this is a case and it is only my fault. Will update you soon here.

I bought the same gun 2 months ago and have no such problem with mine.

Strangely enough when I got mine, it was bone dry (no communist oil on it). I still cleaned it before though and havn't had any problems besides having difficulty extracting live rounds (ejection port just seems too small).

Clean it and if it doesn't work - send it back to Marstar

Looks like the issue has been resolved.

I did complete disassembling of the gun, full cleaning and after that it seems to act properly. Tommorow I will try it at the range and hope it will work :)

I bought one recently too... and yah, it was totally bone-dry inside. That can't be good. The genuine SIGs come with a lot of oil and lube in them... too much in some cases IMHO.

The NP-34 I had, I was able to get the trigger to feel quite a bit better just by doing my normally clean and lube job on it.

Now... whether that can explain the hammer not locking back... I don't know. Do send it back if problems persist.

Thank you for your comments guys.

Today I've tried it at the range - looks like my problem gone completely.
Yes, what I also found is that my NP-34 came completely dry and only after I disassemble it and put lube it started to work well.

So it was my mistake, I even did not check if it has factory lube inside or not before trying it for the first time.

:)
