Great to know, thanks for the info. Have you changed much or anything by way of internals on yours? I'm just curious about part interchangeability?

No, nothing. I had a minor issue with the slide not always locking open after the last shot. On the advice of others here, I bought two (not Norinco) mags; Plated Remington, for under $30.00 new (really nicely made mags; very slick).

That made not difference. I took the slide off, but the slide release back in the pistol and inserted the mags, one by one. There were just barely engaging the slide release. I built the end up a little bit with Tig weld, hand worked and re blued it. Works perfect now.

I posted about it here and and on on the other forum, and found that I was not alone, and offered to fix them for others for the cost of postage. An easy fix, and with my own pistol, easy to fit. You need to be careful about having too much material, as it will interfere with the loaded rounds, and activate the slid stop before the mag is empty. I made a couple dummy rounds up with round nose bullets, as they are as big as they come.

Bullseye has them for $80.00; they should be easy enough to install. This would make it much more usable.

I meant that _I_ was unable to install it. I did it before on my P226...but for some reason it didn't want to go into the NP-34. I'm not too concerned...perhaps someday I'll give it to a gunsmith that has more experience with getting the parts to fit.
