Might be getting one of those, but I need to some info to make up my mind.

I’ve never handled NP29 but did handle NP22 and it seemed like a good deal for the money (didn’t try the trigger though).

I have a few questions about both pistols (stock);

1) How’s the trigger? I’ve heard NP29 has a “horrible trigger” how bad/good is it?
2) How reliable are they? Would I be constantly trying to get the right load or would they work 100% as long as I put enough powder in a case?
3) What kind of accuracy can I expect?

Also are there any truly drop in parts (trigger, hammer, sights) for NP29 that don’t require any fitting?

I made it to #1 in Ontario Production shooting an NP22. Never had a single malfunction.

Swapping barrels between a Sig and the NP22 I couldn't see any difference in group size.

Re trigger - if you've grown up on 1.5lb triggers, you'll hate anything "heavy", weather it's an NP22 of a CZ or Sig. The DA on the NP22 requires a nice, strong pull, that's for sure, but anyone can learn it.

My NP29 has an excellent trigger. It is reliable. It is as accurate as you can expect from a service grade, untuned pistol. I have no experience with a NP22.

I've examined and torn apart another members NP-29. It's very serviceable right out of the box. If it was mine, the only thing I'd replace right away is the trigger. Nothing else is so poor as to need immediate replacement.

I've posted my experiences with the NP29 elsewhere on this site. Do a search under my name in the pistols section, and they should turn up. It is stock, except I installed new sights, which I consider to be an improvement, from my perspective. I also have a pair of Hogue grips for it, but have yet to decide if I prefer them, or the factory wraparounds. I note that when the slide is in battery, I can press the barrel breech down slightly, so a couple of slightly longer links are en route. No harm in tightening it up a bit.

Np-29

Between the two... my money would go on the NP-29. Crappy trigger & other miscelaneous gritty handling wouldn't be an issue cause I'd ship it to Gunnar at Armco for the once over & 'tune'.... ;)
