Just picked up a new NP29 and while the sights are an improvement over my last Norinco I would like to change them out for something better. The rear dovetail appears to be the same as a Wilson at .330ish and 65 degrees and should be no problem to replace.

The front dovetail appears to be around .220 and I can’t find any pistols that share that size. Has anyone found something to work for the front sight? I have a mill and can either hog out the Dovetail or reduce a .330 sight, but was hoping someone might know of a "drop in" solution for either the front sight or a set including both front and rear.

Thanks for your help.

I have heard of people using both the Wilson Lo-mount rear sight as well as the adjustable TPU sight made by LPA. Both sound like they will fit in the rear dovetail with only minor fitting.

I don't think there is any sights out there that will fit the norc front dovetail. It for sure doesn't match any of the common 1911 pattern sights. Wilson makes front sights with a .300 x 60 degree dovetail. You can then either fit the sight to the slide, or the slide to the sight. Norc slides are supposed to be very tough, so you might have an easier time using the file on the sight.

If you are able to find an easy solution, be sure to let me know.

I have heard from some that a Sig 226 from sight might be close. I will try and find one local to measure. My google foo is weak cause I can't seem to find the sig dovetail dia on the net.
