Norinco NP29 - the good the bad and the ugly...

The NP9 is not worth the money. Unless you want to rebuild everything in the gun to get it to work

Your experience is not the same as mine. As with every Norc I have owned they ran fine out of the box, no issues, and all have been more accurate than I am.
My NP29 was a great gun and I didn't spend a dime on it.

Thanks for this. I'm pretty much set on a Spartan now, for my first and only 9mm 1911 that I want. Seems to have the features I'm looking for, and no one seems to need to #### with them to get them running right.

I guess the truism is right: buy once, cry once. I love inexpensive guns, but I've lost most of my patience for cheap guns.

With the lower price on the SAMS now I would take a pass on any Nork 1911 for one of those. Nork is the lowest quality firearm I have ever seen and I'm surprised anyone could be happy with one. Even if you get one that works, it won't be no tackdriver, and the fit and finiush will always be ####ty

True. I've been on the fence about the current $300 deal for the milspec one. But then I say to myself that if I ever come to really really want a milspec 1911, the SAM military .45 is plenty cheap. I handled one at Wolverine and it felt massive and tight. Moreso than my SR1911

And I'm the sort of guy who has to fight the impulse to buy something simply because it's cheap.

I'm glad you've had good experiences. But I tend to believe that my experience is probably more indicative of what most people actually experience with their NP29's.

My NP29 is still on a time out. I've gone back to my old flame (my Glock).

She's ugly, but she's a goer.
