Norinco NP762 4.4" 7.62x25mm Tokarev

They should seriously consider importing mags for these. I heard it is impossible to find extra mag for them. I already have NP22 and just ordered this. Will find out how compatible they are between each other. The only down side that with CCI 9mm at $240 / 1000 there isn't really a lot of edge over shooting the 9mm these days.

Lots of reports of light strikes with surplus ammo and failure to extract with lacquered ammo regardless of whether chamber is clean. It's one of the reasons I never bothered buying one.

I have heard of problems with surplus ammo but decided to take the plunge and ordered a NP762 and 2 spare mags. Fingers crossed it eats surplus......I have 3 crates of 7.62x25 in the ammo locker....

:)

Got one DA762 a three yeas ago. Run a few kinds of ammo - surplus (chineese and russian), new norinco barnaul PPU - the only problem - one of the two factory mags was not holding slide back on last shot (on rare occasions). Zero problems with surplus (two tin cans through), couple misfires with new ammo. Had firearm in the rain and snow on CQB matches - very pleased with performance. I'm not selling anything, just sharing experience. And now I have three more mags!

I've heard of people changing the grip. Anyone have any input as to what grips might work? The unfortunate side effect of having a lanky round like the x25 is the size of the grip in my notso lanky fingers.

People been changing grips to P226 original grips but they don't quite fit perfectly. Talk to MuthaFunk.

Has anyone installed a Sig short reset trigger in one of these pistols?

I have a DA P762, I assume it's the same thing? (Norinco).

I've installed a Sig P226 short reset trigger, Sig P226 takedown lever, P226 aftermarket fibre optic sights, Wolff recoil spring, and Hogue P226 G10 Piranha grips. All the parts fit and function, the grips fit but don't completely cover the lower part of the decocker lever.

My DA P762 doesn't have light strikes or extraction issues, but with Norinco ammo I get a lot of failure to completely chamber next round. Tap the back of the slide and it chambers. I just got a few boxes of Seller and Bellot ammo, first box seems to indicate much better behavior. Also playing with different recoil spring weights and polishing the ramp to see if I can improve it.

I asked 2 different Youtube sources( with thier vids showing they fired the NP762) regarding using surplus ammo both of them said they tried Russian surplus with no problem. I am bit worry about the cleaning surplus. For my M57 I can easily be cleaned while completely taken apart and dried.

As for the grip I really wonder if I can convert it to E2 grip with a close to 20ish lb spring. On my NP22 I use a 18lb Wolff spring with a E2 kit. Surplus ammo might need something stronger may be a 21lb?

It seems like the majority of people don't have any issues. If I weren't more interested in the Shadow x25 clone coming out soon I'd be all over one of these.
