Norinco NS522 tack driver!!

I received one a few days ago. You really do have to completely disassemble the rifle, including bolt to remove cosmoline! BUT a really good trigger mechanism - once cleaned & oiled!

The stock is really really poorly finished and I stripped it down to white soft wood then a number of coats of Krylon paint & clear coat to make it at least presentable. Also found one side of forend was contacting barrel so that needed some wood in channel removed .

Well worth the effort to clean up what is a really nice piece of metalwork & trigger in a sub par piece of wood. I would be happy paying another $100 for decent wood & fitting!

Any updates.....did accuracy improve?

Just took it out today. It was a bit cold on the hands!

I was mostly working on my .308, so I only shot the NS522 at 100yrd.... Results were impressive. I shot 4-5shot groups. 3 were 1.7moa, the fourth was horrible much more than 2moa. Overall, considering the distance (and the fact that I was shooting with the cheap, bulk "Peter's" 22lr), I was pretty happy with the gun!!!

I'll try to post a pick of the groups
