Hi All
I am looking at buying a Norinco handgun in 9mm to practice IPSC. My first choice is the NP-28 or NP-29 but everybody in Canada is out of stock and it look that mid summer is the realistic time that they will be available.I know some Guys that own the NP-28 and after more than 5K shots it is still in very good shape and pleasant to shoo with. In regards to be able to shoot this summer I am looking now at CZ copy like NZ-85 or NZ75 (available). Anybody has comments ..good or bad gun. Thank's to let me know

Hi Guys
Finally Marstar got me a NP-28, 1911 copy and I bought it Just waiting for the paper work before getting the new toy. In Quebec it may take as long as 5 weeks

Thank's for you all for your advice

My NZ-85 is very accurate, but the sights are not as good as the CZ's. I would replace the grips and the hammer spring. The Norinco mags are fine and are all metal compared to the plastic/metal CZ mags.

I really enjoyed my NZ-85 - if you want one, go for it. You can always re-sell later for close to the original value. Marstar, ahoy!

i been doing research on this site and alot of people seem to like the nz85(9mm)

tho im still researching about the np40(40S&W) there doesnt seem to be as many praises for the np40 as there is for the nz85.

Just put another few hundred rounds through my nz85 this morning. It's approaching 2500 rounds no problems this far. I treat it like the range whore, everyone gets a turn and even my friend who shoots a pre B CZ 75 admits he likes it.

The NZ85 is fantastic !!!!

As good or better than the first CZ's that I handled (late 80's).

Get one, and buy ammo for the price difference. You won't be disappointed !!

My NZ-85 surpassed my expectations.

It has a solid build quality, you could really pistol-whip someone with one of these, a credit to the close copy from the original, I'm sure. The accuracy seems reasonably good to me, although I admit I'm not an expert pistol shooter by any means. (Shot rifles exclusively until I got the idea in my head I needed a CZ-75, and then settled on the NZ-85) From 25 metres I could get better than 95% on paper shooting delibrately, and above 75-80% on snaps and rapid fire. This was on a rather standard 11" by 16" pistol target.

My only complaint was the crappy 'rinco mags I got with it. However I have yet to have a single malfunction despite them after a putting a couple boxes through it.
