Didn't have much time but decided to take my recently bought Norinco olympia to the range along with my Rough Rider and Henry Small Game carbine. Turned out the revolver was picky about the different types of ammo, (CCI quite and another brand low velocity ammo) so I kept all the rounds that wouldn't go bang aside and then put them all in the mag for this cheap little pistol. Not a single hickup, just fired anything and everything, no FTF or FTE just like Henry. Thank you Marstar for bringing these in.

Some of that slow speed stuff will be a bit week to cycle some semi auto's, thou they should fire if chambered.
I had a older Hi Standard Olympic model, 22 short, and I had it set up to work with CB caps, now that was a fun gun.

Ditto, I was sceptical about that gun when it was on sale for $199, but every review (including the OP of this thread) I have seen or read has said this gun is a winner. I so look forward to getting mine.
About the Henry RR I experienced the same thing with mine for the first couple times out, but it seems to have cleared up now after using it and cleaning it a couple times. i am using the cheap remington ammo from CTC and it fires every time now.
PS Marstar had a 2 clip, extra grips package on sale for the Olympia for $119. Dont see them there now but may be worth an ask if they have more coming

I picked up a Rough Rider and an Olympia for 22lr pistols too!
Super happy with my decision.
I love them both, they're both oodles of fun. The Olympia fits the hand really nice, they take down super easy (just like a Makarov with the trigger guard hinge) and I haven't had mine jam yet. The safety is stiff as hell on my Olympia but the trigger is beautiful. I didn't think I'd like the plastic grips and had been looking for the older wood ones for a while before it came in but I actually don't mind them at all. Super glad I picked one up. Olympia ran me $199 from Marstar and the RR was $225 shipped off the EE back in May before all the freeze nonsense. Can't complain about 2 decent guns for less than $500 lol

I picked up an Olympia from Marstar as well. Had it at the range once and while I enjoyed it, I did have some feeding issues with the mags. I was just running Winchester wildcat .22lr and they weren't feeding well at all. Unfortunately I forgot my other .22 ammo. When I got home I tried some bulk federal and it seemed to feed much better, but have yet to shoot it.

I always only buy CCI, never had a problem.
Winchester wildcat is a cheap and inaccurate round from my experience.
Strange that the revolver had issues. They don't need to cycle anything. Was it a firing pin spring issue?
Like I said in my post I had some of the same issues. At the time was using Aguila ammo. Would occasionally not fire. Would bypass that shot and try again and then it would fire. There would be a slight dent in the rim from shot 1.
Maybe something sticky in the firing pin area that needed to break in? Have now run at least 200 rounds through it and using cheapest Remington ammo CTC sells and it fires every time.
I took it out without cleaning or lubricating anything, just made sure the bore was clear, I'll take it out again now that its cleaned and lubed and see if it does the same thing with the same ammo, ran just fine with other brands. My dad was a revolver guy, "revolvers are more reliable than pistols, in case you have a missfire, second one is right behind" he said. He will be disappointed given that both my pistols ran great.

Got mine in on Thursday here in Ontario lol bought june 1st , transfer started June 4th.
It's absolutely a sweet Lil gun, with some cool history. The German (Nazi) team took home Gold with these babies at the 36 Olympics.
I haven't put my counterweight on yet, but love it so far outta box.

Well my Norinco came in the mail today and I could not be happier with that purchase. I got the extra mags and grip add on. After unboxing I took the time to take it apart and clean up all the residue etc from it. It was not actually that bad. I found that the mags would not "click" in but easily went in once i pushed on the mag release lightly. I do not plan to jam mags in an I know if they thing breaks there will be a hard time getting parts.
After getting it cleaned up and checking it out I went to the local outdoor range. It was only -7 but the wind was right out of the north down range so felt a lot cooler. I had loaded up the 4 mags and decided that was all I was going to shoot just to see if it worked. I stapled up a couple targets and went out about 15 ft. Got a mag loaded and racked the slide and took shot 1. Shot 2 did not load. I looked and found I had failed to insert the mag fully so once that was done every shot went without fail for the 4 mags.
The thing that impressed me the most was how accurate the gun was. The first mag I just shot half assed making sure it ran but then the next mags, I held as reasonable an aim as I could with gloves on in the driving cold wind. The groupings were great. I was so happy with how it shot I went and loaded up the mags again.I will tell you I was shooting the cheapest remington bucket of bullets that Canadian Tire sells and every shot went without fail, the gun locked back after every empty mag and it shot groupings that had me wanting to do some more shooting but my fingers were turning blue.
For some reason I was most excited to get this one pistol and all in all I would say of the 5 hand guns I have received so far this one has me as happy as a clam and the buying process with Marstar has been about as pleasant an experience as i have had with a store when it come to communication and fair value.
On thing that I will change and that is perhaps putting a dab of colour on the front sight. Shooting at a black target with black standard sights was a bit difficult.
If you never got one of these I would say that you truly missed out on a fantastic gun. I look forward to better weather so I can get it out and do one handed shooting with the weight attached. Look out Olympics here I come ha ha

The Olympia is a great pistol, but hate loading the mags, as the follower spring is designed to engage it on one side only and it is binding like crazy.
According to my research, the mags are a hit and miss.
Some load well, even despite this design flaw and some are literally unuseable.

Ya had no issue with all 4 of mine. Load easily. The spring does should like it is binding some times but the ammo fed easily from the mag to chamber even in the cold. The little tab on the side of the mag to pull down could be a bit bigger
Got the Olympia for the wife but I ended up shooting it more great little tack driver very accurate and reliable even with cheaper ammo. I use CCI standered. The mags can be hard to load one trick I did was load them then pull the magazine spring down all the way then let it go to seat the rounds better or just firmly tap the bottom of the magazine's after loading them.
I also got a Heritage Rough Rider it had two issues one had was the front sight was off and it was shooting left and the rear sight picture was also a little small for me so I opened it up a bit and solved both problems.

Anybody have idea if its okay to dry fire seldomly just to let the tension off the internal hammer before it gets stored?
