Norinco P226 and P228 Chinese knock offs, quality/experience with Norinco anyone?

I have the Norinco cq 311 - love it. never had a problem with it - Not as nice to look at as a Colt AR or Bushmaster - but for the price - can't beat it.

I think some of us sometimes forget that 90 % of the goods we wear / use etc. come from China. If you're wearing running shoes right now, check the tag, bet their from China!

I bought a NP22 (226) about 4 years ago from Marstar. I swapped the original crappy grips for Hogues. The sights take some getting used to and the trigger is pretty rough at the start. After about 10000 rounds, it's still going strong. I replaced a spring (included with the pistol) and that's it. Good gun and mine's been great value for the money.

I have never seen a crack frame on a "new" SIG yet and I have insp hundreds.
You will shoot your barrel out before you bust your frame.

BUT!!!!!! thats keeping in mind you change the slide spring every 5000rds!
This is very very important for all auto pistols.

New manufactured Norinco SIGs have been redesigned.

The rail was reinforced to prevent crack, which happened on both original and Nork SIGs.

The only Norc pistols I'll own are the 1911's... and they have to be the new series to boot. If I was interested in a Sig I'd get the real deal. Same with the CZ, although the Norc CZ clones I've seen/handled seemed to be decent for the money.

228 clone

I have a 228 clone; nice gun, no problems so far, though I haven't put many rounds through it... shoots as well as any of the 'real' SIGs I've tried.

Personally I prefer my Glocks, though... (go ahead, start flaming me...:runaway:)

We have cracked both frames and slides on real SIG P226s, however it always occurs well after 50,000rds. I ran 2 NP34s on the range and they lasted only weeks, and at best saw 5,000rds. They are cheaper, and for light use they are fine, but don't fool yourself into thinking you are getting the same quality at a lower price.

Just wondering how many years ago this was? I'm wondering if these were the older design? Apparently new Norcs have been redesigned?
