Norinco parts interchangeability?

Anyone know if genuine SIG parts will fit in the Norinco clones? Specifically the barrel?

Anyone with a Norinco NP-34 able to tell me how far past the end of the slide the barrel protrudes?

OR

Does anyone have a Norinco NP-22 barrel for sale that could be fitted into an NP-34?

i know that the trigger of their 1911 clones isnt interchangeable with 1911 triggers,
considering this, i would assume some sig parts arent.
but ill let the know-y's say for sure

Strange, I've received quotes from 2 pistolsmiths (good ones) that included replacing the Norc trigger with more than one brand of aftermarket 1911 trigger.

I would imagine the locking lugs are at slightly different angles. You would be better off trying to find a P228 barrel.

On interchangability in general, while I don't own any Norincos, I would imagine that most P228 parts would work - particularly if it is a part which is unchanged since the oldschool 228 days (which is what the Norinco is a copy of).

Most if not all of the 1911 stuff should be interchangeable. I know a number of guys that have put all manner of aftermarket parts into Norc 1911s, including the 9mm NP-29. I think the doublestack guns in both 9mm and .45 are pretty hit and miss as to whether parts will work. The 1911-A1s (both "Government" and "Commander") are copied straight from the original mil-specs - same as everybody else doing faithful repros. The doublestacks (NP-30, NP-28) are something the Chinese worked up on their own.

The P226 barrel is NOT compatible with the P228, so you need to buy a 106mm P228 barrel (Bar-sto or Federal Arms). Barrels and slides and all small parts from SIG interchange with the Norincos...

I installed a stock 1911a1 trigger in my Nork with no issues.

My Nork 1911 frame has a US made trigger in it, not a single problem with swapping parts over, except the grip screws. Other than the grip screws everything else is compatible.

I have straight swapped an number of parts on my Norc .45 Commander, with stuff from Wilson Combat and other makers. Pop out the old part, put in the new part. No problems.

And exactly how much is that? I need a reasonably accurate measurement as I need at least 0.5 inches (preferably 0.6 inches) of barrel past the slide. Guesses aren't good enough, I need an actual measurement from someone with one of these guns.

It won't be anything close to half an inch. SIG P228's and P229 (and Norinco copies) have 3.9 inch barrels (99mm) if not extended for threading or Canadian law or some other reason. The Marstar imported NP-34's have a 108mm barrel (4.25 inch). The barrel should protrude approximately 9mm or 0.35 inch.

The NP-22 is a copy of an older (70s, early 80s) -style SIG P226. The NP-34 is a copy of an older SIG P228. The guns are quite a bit different. If you want to get a really long barrel for an NP-34 you are probably going to need the help of a gunsmith to convert something. You could try contacting Joe Dlask in Vancouver. He used to make a P228 copy gun and is probably the best source of info on this stuff.

I have put a Sig 226 trigger bar and spring into a Norc. 228. Norinco 1911's are as good or better dimensionally than most any 1911, excluding the grip bushings.
