I couldn't find anything about this using the search function. I've heard older-style 1911s have problems failing to feed JHPs. Is this the case with Norinco 1911s?
Also, what about Norinco CZ clones in 9mm and .40?
I believe that even the basic models come with a throated barrel, which will help with feeding hollow point and SWC type bullets. If you have one that won't feed JHPs, it won't take much work for a gunsmith to fix it.
I can't say for old norcs but new ones have no problems that I have experienced. I don't use the norc mags though, so I can't speak to the effect that would have.
I'd say it depends on the gun and the ammunition. No guarantee on that one. BUT, usually you can solve feeding problem issues by polishing the ramp and/or using different ammo.
I bought a Norinco 1911A1 and tried feeding it some old Norinco .45 JHPs my gunsmith had lying around (.45s are more heavily restricted than 9mm/.38 handguns Down Under). It did not like chambering the first round no matter what mag i used (Norinco, Colt, MecGar) but once the first one was in it fed fine.
I have some Gold Dots a mate gave me and they feed fine. They are nowhere near as huge as far as the hole in them goes though
