Hey, so it's getting to the point where I'll be replacing alot of the Chinese components on my M14 for Springfield Armory parts, most being National Match quality.
Two Questions,
1. On the rear sight, I ordered a National Match windage knob & NM sight base. They didn't list a NM elevation knob so I got the regular one. I also got the regular aperture sight (I don't like hooded sights) So, will all these pieces interchange or do you need all National Match parts to assemble the sight assembly?
2. The Chinese bolt... Alot of American forums are suggesting that the most important upgrade you can do to the Chinese clones is upgrade to a USGI bolt. They say the Chinese bolts are soft and don't come headspaced properly. Is this true? Should one consider upgrading the bolt, or is it good enough?
BTW my M14 is the 2011 CanAm Shorty.
