Am I correct in assuming the one in the photo is prohibited and that any Canadian legal version would have a Pinocchio barrel?

Yes, I am aware of that. My question was is the photo in the first post of the gun with a prohib length barrel or is it a photo of the Canadian legal (108mm) version.

I don't disagree but I think CanAm said somewhere in that old thread that the factory making the PPN closed and the tooling was discarded after Chinese firearms were banned from the US in '94

No, you are not correct. The one in the photo has a 108mm barrel, so it would be restricted.

I've seen them listed on other sites, but they out of stock (perpetually it seems).
