So for Christmas my wife gave me the go ahead to buy the Norinco M4 and the M&P 9 Range kit. I got to shoot both yesterday for the first time and I was impressed with the M4 but found that the rear sight actually pivots left and right a little on the carry handle. This is my first AR so Im just guessing my way through trouble shooting this. Is this normal? There is a small hole just forward of the peep and seems like there should be a screw in there but I could be wrong. It shot pretty good, but I only shot 50 meters.

Ps. Does anyone know how to mount the sling that comes with the norinco?

The rear sight is just like that on the Norinco. Not sure why. Try locking the elevation as low as it can go. This is the only solution I've thought of but it seems to keep it centered. I'm trying this out next. I've only shot my Norinco cq once and my shot's were all on the right and no adjustment would correct it enough. The other option would be to buy better rear sights of course.

The wide metal clip on the sling snaps over the butt swivel, most everyone on CGN will tell you to search because there are a dozen threads about it.... Then they will tell you to chuck it and buy something better...

Congratulations, you now have the 2 things every Canadian male should have: an AR15 and a reliable 9mm pistol and carry rig. As far as the rear sight goes, it could be a missing screw, I'm sure someone will tell you really quickly if you post a picture. Regarding the sling, honestly there are so many better options out there, if your Norc is a 14.5" get a Vickers, if it's a 10.5" you might be better off with a single point - but under no circumstances will you be well served by the Norc sling.

Hmm. Well as far as the sight goes, I grouped right on at 50m so I will just let it sit for now till It screws up or I put a red dot or some thing like that on it.

THe sling.. well, I do have another sling in the mail already, I was just wondering if this thing actually worked and figured I could play with it a bit. I guess I'll just be patient till the new one shows up.

you mount it by picking it up and placing it in the nearest trash can
