norinco replica Browning HI-power

Hey! That was my gun! You're right though - they are crap. I took mine into a 'smith and he discovered that the machining on the feed ramp was not finished and that's why it would not feed anything. He made a few cuts and polished it up and now it only stovepipes! :( I use mine to practice DuraCoating - it's on it third or forth refinish. I haven't actually fired it in a few years because it's just an exercise in frustration.

Can anyone tell me if the norinco Browning Hi-Power replica is a decent pistol for $299.00 PLS.

It's a copy of the FEG which is a copy of the BHP with Double Action. I am a fan of Norincos, but this one does not have a good rep. Norinco did make a copy of the BHP but never sold it here. For the money buy their Tork copy.

With my experience with this gun I was really hesitant to get another Norinco product. I took a chance and got one of the 1911's from Marstar and couldn't be happier. The quality of the 1911 over the NP-18 is like night and day.

Thumper - avoid the NP-18 ( unless you want to buy my used one ;) ). Get a real Hi-Power or most any other name brand pistol if you are looking for a 9mm. Glocks are very reasonable right now.

The Norc HP is indeed a copy of the Fegyvar, the gun that they are copied from is vile crap, how could the copy be any different? The original Feg was junk, ergo the copy is junk. If you want an HP either look for an Inglis, or get a Browning.

I can't figure that either, they had Hi Powers for years and they don't make a version - they could really kick @ss if they put out a Hi Power clone at the same level as their 1911 clones. Instead they copy one of the worst abortions to be produced behind the Iron Curtain (the Tok is a better pistol than the Feg)

I keep saying...

Everyone told me that the Norc 1911 was the best of the brand name, and couldn't be beat, expecially for the price...

Utter and complete garbage! I have hand-moulded a gun like shape out of tin foil that was more reliable a firearm than the Norinco.

Friends don't let friends buy Norinco!

(Purely my humble opinion, based on the three Norinco's I have owned or shot moderately extensively. No genuine firearms, and very few targets were harmed in this experimentation. )
