NORINCO silver box vs Copper Washed

What is the difference between these two types of ammunition in 7.62 x 39? Both are non-corrosive. I ordered silver box, but there was a screw up and the supplier sold it all off after my order was entered. They have offered to give me copper washed instead.

What are your thoughts?

I think it's pretty much lead-core versus steel-core.

So silver box is lead, and red box (copper washed) is steel?

Aren't steel considered armor piercing and not range friendly?

It is mild steel. Not armour piercing, but hard on a steel backstop. lead core is preferable, if you can get it.

there are norinco silver,green and i believe yellow box 7.62x39.these are non corrosive if they come in a 20 rnd. box in styrofoam.
if the copper washed is in a paper wrapper it will be corrosive.
the non corr. should be laquered steel case.it may be steel core or just fmj.if the box says lead core it's that--if nothing is said then
it's probably steel core.
