Well, I just got mine in the mail today. I thought it was Un-issued Chinese military, but the reg cert says NORINCO. So, what does that mean? ...John...?

Nothing, except that the CFC has their own unique madness to identifying firearms.

How can you tell if the barrel is chrome lined? I'm not sure about my 51

Look at the end of the barrel. If its shiny silver/chrome color at the bore, its chrome lined.

My Siminnov has a much better trigger than my Norinco...other than that little or no differnce I can see between the two.

So I guess Mao killing millions of his own countrymen with starvation and one child laws doesn't count. Both of these powers did some brutal things and were brutalized by others like the Japanese and Nazis. none of them are innocent that's for sure By the way I think the Russians made a better weapon here from a technical quality standpoint.

I got Chinese because it's unissued and has chrome lined barrel. The bolt is super smooth and it accepts Tapco 20/5 detachable mags without any hesitation.

If I were to do it all over again, I'd still go for the Chinese. I'm looking more for a shooter so.
