Hey Everyone,

I picked up my SKS about a week ago, its a Norinco. When I was originally looking at getting my SKS I was considering mostly the Russian one. I ended up getting the Norinco because it was on the EE locally for a great price already in the Tapco stock and some other aftermarket bits (still have the original stock and bits if I feel like putting it back, too).

I know that the Norinco ones are much newer than the Russian production rifles as Norinco was founded around 1980 I think, but I don't know too much about the company. Who else has a Norinco SKS? How do they compare accuracy/quality-wise to other SKS rifles?

I haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but I'm planning to this weekend out in Chilliwack.

Accuracy will probably be like most sks's, some are excellent, some are terrible, most are decent for what they are, don't exect to drive tacks at 300m

Knotty I may see you out there as I'll be shooting in Chilliwack as well, if ya see a silver 2012 Focus parked on the side of the road and hear gunfire that will be me and my buddies.

Usually shoot by the prison before the 800 meter restriction comes into play on the east side of it.

As for the SKS's I've had Russian and Chinese and many of them ,all seemed to shoot pretty much the same and they get real hot real fast, that said I often fire off a whole crate worth of ammo in one sitting. ;)

Cool. I go up the Chilliwack Army Forestry Road a ways. Theres a Place up elevated off the road with a nice view of the river valley, where you can shoot cans and what not at about 15 meters, or turn to the side a bit and have a range up to about 150-200 meters, both with really good backstops. If you're up there and see a tan '86 BMW 325 that's me.

Ever shoot at the range there? I think I'm going to get my grandparents to get me a membership there for next year, instead of the usual cash at Christmas.

Been to that spot but its usually pretty full up with people so I stick to my one spot there, if we see ya we see ya, if not oh well I'll still hear ya.

The ACTUAL range that you can see after you go past the salmon farm there is DND only to best of my knowledge..
