Okay so seems nobody else came up with a solution for the lefties I found someone who would. And it works.!!

Gave the rifle to my brother and gave him an idea of what I was looking for. His way of doing this was much more effective. There are no screws or rivets in the gun what so ever Thus not ruining it for someone when they want to sell the gun or pass it on. It is held on simply by the buttstock. I don't know exactly what guage metal he used nor do I know the techniques he used to bend the metal, but so far the deflector seems to be working.
He also took the liberty of installing a horizontal charging handle into the existing charging handle. He drilled out a litle bit of the rivet and installed the metal piece there.
Enjoy. All credit goes to Turbominivan for the creation of this. I'm only doing the posting as he didn't want to.

Awesome work!

Now give it a little bluing or paint and it will look almost factory!

Random question, what is up with that charging handle??

Specify what you mean with the charging handle? My brother took the liberty of adding a horizontal piece. It can be unscrewed and removed with no ill effect to the factory style.

Ya I've never seen one like that with what appears to be a bolt or some sort stuck in it.

Works really well I assume?

I'm also a lefty and the shell deflector does seem to work well.
The bolt handle is alright, I'm neither here nor there with it, but if it starts to bother me I can just remove it.

Does it prevent the casings from being launched into space? I was thinking of a similar deflector, but couldn't figure out how to attach it. Using the butt stock was an ingenious idea!

It deflects the shells down. I think I still need to have the deflector angled alittle more on back side closest to my face. It works but every now and then There is a stray shell that goes down and back that gets away but they are always deflected down.
I'll try and get a video made in action to show everyone.
I've received a few messages asking to have one made. I will enquire with my brother about making a few although he did tell me he doesnt have alot of time to spare.

A video would be nice. Your brother doesn't need to make them. It looks like a relatively simple design. Some ingenuity and curse words will usually get things built. It doesn't look like it would work with M14's FTU though. Again good on you and your brother for coming up with this design.
