Okay so seems nobody else came up with a solution for the lefties I found someone who would. And it works.!!
Gave the rifle to my brother and gave him an idea of what I was looking for. His way of doing this was much more effective. There are no screws or rivets in the gun what so ever Thus not ruining it for someone when they want to sell the gun or pass it on. It is held on simply by the buttstock. I don't know exactly what guage metal he used nor do I know the techniques he used to bend the metal, but so far the deflector seems to be working.
He also took the liberty of installing a horizontal charging handle into the existing charging handle. He drilled out a litle bit of the rivet and installed the metal piece there.
Enjoy. All credit goes to Turbominivan for the creation of this. I'm only doing the posting as he didn't want to.
