Norinco T56SHTF (Updated)

I have made a few changes to my Norinco Type 56 that I have set-up for SHTF work.

Here is a before picture:

I added a SureFire Scout light and replaced the TangDown VFG with a new AFG from Magpul over the weekend.

The AFG feels natural and it does not stick out like a sore thumb. The VFG worked, but it was never comfortable for me.

It looks like I will replace the Scout light because I think the off-set Scout Mount (SM-OCG) from
VLTOR with a G-series or a CK-series (Classic Knurled) SureFire flashlight will be a better set-up.


I highly recommend the AFG if you happen to have a full length lower rail on your AK.

After I finished modifying another AFG so it would fit one of my MK14 SEI
rifles this evening I tinkered with the location of the AFG on my AK.

I will post new pictures soon.

Nice rig, H2O Man. The AFG actually looks very fitting for that design of rifle. The standard vert. foregrips work best with any AR platform, I've noticed, but wasn't too sure about the AFG. I see it could work best for any upgraded AK/CZ variant in leu of the foregrip.

Yep... Prob designed for the single stack receiver.
