Norinco Tokarev ???

sadly you missed "operation tokarev". i no longer have the video or the pics.

good gun for the money, lots of fun. it's a cheapo bullet launcher that works, and the Czech surplus ammo is nice and hot. good times. i laughed everytime i abused it.

i sold mine. no regrets. i wouldn't do it again though. here's why: for the cost of a gun and a case of ammo, plus tax and shipping (unless you live close to a healthy supply of 7.62x25TT) your halfway to something much better.

save your money. buy a glock.

or better yet, get both, im in the process of saving for a G17. I still wish they'd make a modern doublestack in 7,62TT
Forget the Glock! :runaway:

For similar ballistics in a modern double stack consider a 357 Sig or a 9x40 Armco chambering. The 357 Sig ammo can be harder to find and you won't find any 9x40 Armco but you can reload for both. The 9x40 uses cheap 40 S&W brass that is necked down to .355 bullets. Talk to Gunnar at Armco for that.

i dont want no tactical tupperware glock pistol...i want the real heavy duty russian/chinese pistol that will sink a boat. lol. i just wanted to see how ppl liked their tokarev.

outgrow it? :confused::slap:

Well, just back in from the range :dancingbanana:
The "Norkarev" (still like that one :p) functioned very well... had a couple of FTE's, but as I was a bad boy and didn't bother cleaning it first... :(
Other than that... beautiful!
A little snappier than a 9mm, but very manageable.
Didn't notice much in the line of muzzle flash, but there were some nice sparks flying now and again.
Groups were quite acceptable, considering I'm no marksman and this is a battle pistol.
Now for the pics...
First, I tried to get a couple down the site plane (I'm no photographer, either)

First target is cold barrel, holding at the centre of the red dot...

This is a warmer barrel, holding at the 6 o'clock position...

These were at about 5 meters, and this is a standard 81/2 X 11 sheet of paper.
As an aside here, Cocked&Locked joined me at the range, and amongst his other toys, be brought a Russian T33 and a CZ52.
With the exception of the slide serrations, T33 and Norc are very similar.
The CZ52 is a totally different animal (I didn't care for it, sorry C&L ).

I was wondering does the powder in the Tok surplus ammo have that wierd/bad smell like 7.62x39 surplus ammo has? do you know what I mean?

I've been shooting BXN52 (the stuff you buy at Marstar) out of my russian TT33, and I have now royally flucked the extractor. I can't shoot my pistol until I get a new one or get a whole new slide. Or something. I'm pretty pissed off with the problem and don't even want to fix it right now. The gun has been a lot more problems than it's worth.

NP, it's not my favorite shooter either, but the action alone makes it worth owning....much less comfortable to shoot then the TT33's...

Tonight's episode of COPS featured a footchase between a Boston cop and perp. The perp tossed a gun into nearby bushes, where the "ballistic dog" sniffed it out...a Norinco Tokarev!

COPS is cool show. there should be a Canadian version. would be funny.

"Mounties" and you see a mounty with his big red uniform on a horse chasing down some poor man.:shotgun: :dancingbanana:

I love mine, it's a Hungarian version, called the 48 minta.
http://www.sunblest.net/gun/Toka48.htm

It's built like a tank, and is fun to shoot.
I'm finally getting used to the trigger, and sights.

I even bought a 9mm barrel and mags for it.

Easy to clean, and reliable with a long successful history in many wars, and for a low price, great stuff these pistols. :)

Just replace the extractor (marstar has them), and use better ammo next time.
This pistol design is one of the least problematic pistols you are going to find out there.

Groups were quite acceptable, considering I'm no marksman and this is a battle pistol.

They didn't build these "battle pistols" to be less accurate then other types.
Work on your trigger control and I'm sure you will get bullseyes.
