Norinco trench gun

Consumer IQ test:

Norinco = half the price, better quality.

870 = twice the price, lower quality.

:D

This is an IQ test for johns on a Saturday night, not for buying shotguns.:;)

So it's a good gun then. I might just pick one up over an 870. Either way, I'm getting two shotguns; one shorty for fun and one standard 870 for hunting. It'll be good to know if the first 7 rounds don't work, I can always use the stabbing device at the end.

I liked it. Other than the shroud issue, it was fun and effective and I shot well with it, especially with fast, repeating shots.

Only thing I would do to the Norc is replace that funny wood for something more.....woody. And a little more matte.

Of course the real question is WHYINTHEHELL winchester stopped making it!

Probably some Fudds killed the project by saying it is not a "sporting shotgun".

Besides which why did Winchester do allot of things...like moving to crappy stamped parts, letting their company die etc etc?

I think Norinco is doing a heck of a job listening to what people want and making good cheap versions of them. I don't understand why anyone would want a plastic shotgun with a flashlight when you can have a classy blued steel and
walnut(I would swap out the wood) trenchgun with a bayonet? Would any other company besides Norinco leave the slam fire feature working in this day and age of lawyers and warning labels?

Au contraire.

The demand was for modern hammerless designs.

It was another case of following the market.

And when the market CHANGED due to the popularity of the Cowboy Action Shooting sport, Winchester said "never mind" They could have sold a LOT of NEW M97's

Same as when S&W were asked to produce the Schofield again. Not practical, they said. So Uberti went ahead and sold a load of them. THEN S&W said, well, maybe, but when we make it, it will be at a WAY higher price than our much more powerful DA revolvers, because S&W is stamped on it.
