We've made a decision here at ARMCO that has been influenced partly by the spotty import record of Norinco 1911's, and also the very low profit in selling. We will no longer sell them, but instead offer the following:

Armco Norinco tuning - $100 on your gun including return shipping 

You buy your gun from Lever or Marstar, ship it to us and we do the following:

Lap frame to slide, smooth up breech face and underside of slide, prep and tune extractor, polish inside of slide where top of barrel rubs, add a polymer shock buffer, check and adjust thumb and grip safeties as needed, rework hammer, sear and disconnector surfaces and set trigger pull to 3.5 to 4.5 lbs (crisp). We function test with factory 230 grain ammo as well as 200 grain lead semiwadcutter reloads, test fire with both types of ammo as well. Lately we have not had to polish and throat the frame and barrel for feeding as they come in pretty good shape that way, but we always check, and improve feeding if needed. We check little stuff like making sure the grips fit snugly, and that plunger housings are staked correctly.

The gun you get back is worlds smoother, easier to shoot, and more dependable than an out of the box Norinco. We have an option for an extra $30 of switching to Pachmayr grips, or mahogany diamond checkered grips (very pretty). We can fit a match alloy trigger for an extra $30 as well, and mag wells, different safeties, full length guide rods, even a "Bear Load" package consisting of extra heavy recoil spring and barrel adjusted for maximum lock-up. $125 extra gets a nice set of Novak sights…

We are busy, but so far keeping up with demand, and it's usually about two weeks from when we get it until receipt of your tuned Norinco :)

Thanks, guys. It got to where the time spent advertising, selling, transferring and shipping a Norinco was worth well over what the profit was. Tuning them is what I do best, so that's what's going to happen :)

Here's one that got a little more than just tuning - it's a gun I built a few years ago for someone with very small hands - I just recently shortened the slide and added a 2 port coned compensator. VERY soft to shoot!

Sounds like a real deal to me. Just in time for my No.

Hope I can find some decent single stack mags..I thought the factory ones were like a garden implement...sharp and unwielding.

Gunnar does great work. He's worked on my wife's Imbel M1911 slide and now he just replaced my NP29 sights for some higher vis 3 dot sights bought at Numrich.

Thanks Gunnar !!

I don't stock the White dot versions :(

The NZ85's (and CZ's)are a bit more persnickety to do a trigger job on. Not that tough in itself once you know what you're doing, but the disassembly and reassembly is a lot more time consuming and sometimes you have to go back in and tweak it a little more. On a 1911, that adds 10 minutes, on a CZ type it adds at least half an hour... On those, the package deal would be $140 including shipping.

How much for the 3 dot novak sights?

Does this deal apply to the NZ-85b?

Don't do it guys!!

That Gunnar, he's a sneaky, sneaky fella. You'll send in your pistol for 'just a tune-up'. Next thing you know, you're thinking
While he's got it apart, I need a magwell. And an ambi safety. A full length guide rod would be nice as well.......

You'll call him up and he lays on the high pressure sale tactic:
Yeah, I can do that!

Your 'tune-up' (thanks Gunnar) turns into some IPSC sights (thanks again) with a FO front (thanks), a mag well (thank you) fitted beaver tail (huge thanks :D ) and extended safety (Thank you). :p :p

(E)

PS
Thanks for the work Gunnar.

Has anyone sent theirs out and gotten it back yet?

I sent mine end Sept and still nothing. I've tried e mailing and phoning during the times listed on the site and no response.
