Right, so I'm sure there has already been a thread or two about these, but anyway, any owners out there want to give me some feedback on how they are for a shooter? I've been thinking about getting one from lever arms in Vancouver. I've heard some stuff about them exploding and such, I dunno, any advice from people who owned them would be great

thanks.

I have never heard of one of these blowing up...grips falling off of one, but not blowing up.

I have a Hungarian version and it is very solid.
You can also drop in a 9mm barrel, and use 9mm mags.

The sights are hard to see in certain lighting conditions, but I'm impressed with the design of the Tokarev.

Try marstar.

I've had one for about two years and have had no trouble with it at all. I'm on my second crate of 7.62X25 ammo.I'd skip the 9mm barrel and stick to the X25 because the milsurp ammo is cheap and has more kick than 9mm. Great little gun to play with, strips easily for cleaning and parts are the same as a real TT33. Good value for a solid semi

I'd recommend the Nork Tok as well. Lots of fun and the "Bang" factor is hard to beat. I'd recommend buying from Marstar instead of Lever. Lever will sell you the 54-1 which has the annoying safety on it, they'll also run and hide if by chance there's anything wrong with it after your purchase. With Marstar you're absolutely safe for a year and they have the Type 54, which is what God intended (no external safety).

Though I can't find the web reference, call Marstar and ask if they still have the Tok + 9mm barrel + 7.62 ammo deal going.

OK, I doubt you're going to want to fire much 9mm thru your Tok. Get a separate pistol for that (we could point you towards some good value Norks)...you could mix and match the $150 Tok from Lever with 2,280 rounds of 7.62x25 from Marstar ($238.50 inc. tax + shipping). Lever's price for the same ammo is $333.35 inc. tax, and it won't be $100 shipping from ON, so you're ahead there. Lots of ammo to keep you happy for a long time :)

I really like my Lever Arms Norkarev:eek: . With the 9mm barrel it does one ragged hole at 15m from a sandbag. It doesn't feed 9mm truncated cone.
The trigger is the only bad thing, has anybody had a trigger job done on this little guy.

I just got one of these 9mm/7.62x25mm TT-54 packages from Frontier Taxidermy. Looks to be a rugged little pistol, quite a nifty design. A buddy of mine gave me about 500 rounds of 7.62x25mm to settle a debt so I had to buy a pistol to feed it into. Trigger is heavy but crisp. Should be a blast! Literally! I think I shall remove the safety though. Looks like an add on and works backwards (safe is forward and fire is towards the back of the pistol).

$100+ trigger job on a $150 pistol...could be a candidate for a DIY job, what would you have to lose?
I tweaked the trigger return spring a bit, that helped. I could polish the sear and hammer hooks I suppose. I think you might need to remove metal (and therefore know what you are doing - which I don't) do get to a 6lb pull.
The hammer spring inside the hammer is so cute :).

One thing you will notice is how freaking loud the 7.62x25 is...them bullets are moving fast...depending on ammo maker 1300 to 1500 ft/sec.

Also Here on Van island I was having a hard time finding reasonably priced 7.62x25, and was tired of dealing with corrosive ammo.

So the 9mm barrel was a nice upgrade, esp' when I use Seller bellot non-tox, which pretty much leaves the barrel super clean, which is nice for a change.

Besides which, if feeling frisky one can swap the barrels and mags back and forth at the range in a matter of a few minutes, without tools.

BTW, Don't try to use the 7.62x25 mags with 9mm, or you will get a double feed after a few shots.
The 9mm mags have a much needed backing plate to make up for 9mm being a shorter cartridge. :D

Hmmm I might have to get another Tokarev Pistol. :D

Anyone know where to find a grip like the one on the 9mm "improved" model? An upgrade to ergonomics on this pistol would be well worth some extra cash.

Try Hogue

I found a solution to my Tok ergonomic issues (plus the tendency of one of the grips to fall off) by purchasing a small Hogue Handall grip. It's perfect :)
