A couple of comments. The legislation made bullpup stocks illegal. The lawmakers could just as easily, but did not, make all bullpup firearms illegal. Some named bullpups were prohibited, but bullpups as a category of firearm were not. Could have, didn't. Who knows what the intent of the lawmakers was, given that they did one thing when they could have done another? Second, the Walther was not declared to be a prohibited firearm. Its stock was determined to be a prohibited device. Now this effectively puts the Walther in a state of limbo, but the interpretation was applied to the stock, not the firearm.
